Magic Key annual passes are valid for 365 days from their first date of use, also known as their validation date. It's possible for someone to have purchased a Magic Key and not have 'validated' it until sometime later; Guests officially have up to a yEAR to do so.

To see your Magic Key expiration date, just head over to the Disneyland website and hover over "Magic Key" banner to reveal the pull-down menu, then select "Magic Key Pass Information." The older MagicBands technically would still be valid to use in Walt Disney World and should work. But I want to warn you that while these versions of MagicBands were great in terms of their battery power, ones that are more than 2 years old can often be drained of their magical energy and no longer work.
