Right, what the hell are TikTok Rewards? And how do I use them? (2024)

You’re there happily scrolling through TikTok, avoiding all responsibilities by watching endless videos and then boom – you’re hit with the most annoying pop-up of all time. I am of course referring to TikTok Rewards.

The little present box shaped pop-up will always come up the minute you open up TikTok in the top hand corner, with the smallest little “x” to get rid of it. And sometimes it’ll even appear on the comments icon, meaning you have to avoid all the shady and hilarious comments for fear of clicking on this little box that you have no clue what its purpose is.

So what exactly are TikTok Rewards? And how you use them? This is everything you need to know:

What are TikTok Rewards?

TikTok Rewards is a referral programme which allows users to invite their friends to join the app and earn rewards by doing so.

According to TikTok’s official website it is “a token of appreciation from TikTok to our incredible community of users across the globe. It’s the currency of reward earned under the TikTok referral program.”

Once you’ve invited a friend and they start watching TikToks you both get rewards to put towards real money or prizes.

So how do you get them?

In order to earn TikTok Rewards users have to invite a friend who is not on the app and get them to sign up.

To do this you need to:

1. Open TikTok.

2. Click on the Rewards widget with the little present box or the banner displaying it.

3. Click the coin icon in the top left hand corner.

4. There your referral link will be as well as your invitation code.

5. Send this code to your friends, boss or annoying neighbour to sign up.

You will then begin earning rewards as soon as your friend signs up. You will then both start earning points when they start watching videos and completing tasks.

Ok so what do you get with TikTok Rewards?

Depending on the country you live in it will vary what rewards you will receive. Some countries allow you to use rewards as actual cash which can be transferred via Paypal or other countries allow you to use it for mobile credit top-up.

In the UK there are currently Amazon vouchers available as well as discounts on apps such as Babbel and Readly.
