WALTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyBURGLARY SUSPECTS OUT OF ORLANDO IDENTIFIED AFTER SUNDAY MANHUNT; ADDITIONAL SUBJECTS SOUGHT Sunday turned out to be a busy day on the heels of spring break. Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple burglaries in Santa Rosa Beach. One occurred on Peachtree Circle and another on Shelter Cove Road involving multiple suspects driving a U-Haul, Kia Forte, and a Ford pickup truck. The suspects targeted large appliances causing minor and, in some cases, major damage to the properties in the process. The following suspects were taken into custody: James Billy Williams, 26, was charged with burglary, grand theft, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, resisting without violence, and fleeing and eluding. Williams also has an active felony warrant for failure to appear out of Orange County Jimmy Lee Robinson, 33, is charged with burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief. Marquise Kemory Wilcox, 14, is charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, grand theft, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest without violence. Jaquavious Ahmed Robinson, 13, is charged with burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest without violence. After interviews and subsequent investigation, it is now believed between three to five people were also involved who were not located, including another juvenile. All subjects are from the Orlando area. Both residences were processed by our Crime Scene Technicians and the U-Haul and Kia were towed to the impound lot for processing. Both vehicles that were impounded were rented. Our agency is publishing the names, but not the photos, of the juveniles involved. Although their mug shots are public record because they face felony charges, we decided to only publish the photos of the adults in this case. Many things are taken into consideration when making this decision including criminal record, the possibility of coercion by adults, and their place of residence. We appreciate our resident's patience as this situation unfolded on Sunday. We also want to extend our appreciation to Walton and Holmes Correctional K-9 Teams for their assistance in the apprehension of James Williams.37Like19

On March 18th Crestview Police Department reached out to Walton County Sheriff’s Office after they were notified of a patient at North Okaloosa Medical Center with a gunshot wound. It was initially reported the wound was accidental and self-inflicted in nature and happened at 408 Commerce Circle in DeFuniak Springs. Walton County Sheriff Deputies went out to the home and spoke with Anthony Hughes, 59, who claimed he was at the store when the shooting took place. After the home was secured, deputies noticed drops of blood in one of the bedrooms located at the back of the house. An investigation revealed the incident was not accidental and that Kai Hughes, 21, used the gun to shoot and injure the victim. On Tuesday, March 26th, Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau conducted a search warrant at the home on Commerce Circle and arrested Kai, his father Anthony, and his mother Audrey Hughes, 54. Kai Hughes is charged with aggravated child abuse and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. Kai was also charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition in June 2023. Audrey is charged with accessory after the fact and Anthony is charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence. These charges stem from the discovery that both Anthony and Audrey knew about the incident and were not forthcoming with investigators. In addition, Anthony hid the weapon used in the shooting from investigators. Audrey and Anthony Hughes were both issued a $5,000 bond. Anthony posted bond on March 27th. Audrey is still incarcerated at the time of this release. Kai Hughes was issued a $100,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.28Like13
