Early life and education

Chiquinquirá was named after the Marian title of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Virgen de Chiquinquirá, and was raised by her devout Roman Catholic parents in Maracaibo, but not a lot about them is known, because Chiquinquirá respects their privacy; it’s believed that her father was a taxi driver, and that her mother was a high school teacher.
